Dawson Wissmach Architects worked with SCAD to design a facility for the college's Product Design and Furniture Design Programs. The Gulfstream Design Center was an industrial warehouse that was converted to classroom space in less than 10 months from the start of the design. DWA worked closely with the college and the contractor, The Carson Company, to orchestrate the amazing transformation of this building. The Gulfstream Design Center houses several classrooms, computer labs, offices, and studios. The building also contains CNC equipment, 3-D printing devices, welding shop, paint shop, metal and wood fabrication shops and other spaces required for designing and constructing everything from hand crafted furniture to working automobiles.
