This three-story, brick building was constructed in 1869. On the north side, the building fronts Bay Street and is stucco with a seven-bay cast iron strorefront on the first floor. The windows on the upper floors are original four-over-four arched double hung windows. The scope of the renovation primarily included the replacement of deteriorated elements to match the existing conditions. The main facades underwent few alterations other than the removal of a 5’ section of the granite sill to allow for ADA access from sidewalk grade. The renovation also included the creation of a roof garden above the one-story section of the ground floor. A new elevator/stair tower serves the terrace from the first floor.
The first floor of the building consists of two main bays separated by an arched opening. Distinguished features on the first floor include-heart pine floors and tongue and groove ceilings which required major repair and replacement due to water damage. A restaurant occupies the entire ground floor and makes great use of the new roof terrace.
The second and third floors are served by a main stair located at the front of the building between the two bays. These two floors are identical in layout and feature plaster walls, curved along the hallways, and hardwood floors. The second floor is currently being utilized as a commercial office suite and the third floor houses two unique residential loft spaces.
